The OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Online Training course is designed for entry-level workers in various workplaces in general industry. The underlying purpose of this course is to promote workplace safety and health by making workers more knowledgeable about common job-related hazards and the best practices to prevent or minimize them.
This OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Training Program will inform workers about their rights, employer responsibilities, procedures for filing a complaint, and how to recognize, abate, and prevent job-related hazards.
This 10 Hour OSHA Outreach Training Program is voluntary, meaning that it does not meet the training requirements contained in any OSHA standard. However, some states and local jurisdictions, employers, and unions have designated OSHA Outreach Training as mandatory for workers to fulfill their desired safety training goals.
Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a completion card issued by the U.S. Department of Labor. This card will be provided by UL EHS Sustainability.

The core objective of the OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Training program is to familiarize entry level general industry workers with the range of safety and health hazards prevalent at a work site; as well as how to identify them; and lessen, avert, or prevent the occurrence of such hazards. The training also gives an overview about workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint.

After course completion the learner will be able to:
- Explain the importance of OSHA in providing a safe and healthful workplace to workers covered by OSHA;

- Understand the hazards associated with using ladders, mobile elevated work platforms, and walking and working surfaces;
- Apply measures to safeguard against fall protection, slips, trips, and other injuries such as cuts and puncture wounds;
- Employ safe and secure methods of materials handling and preventing back injuries; and
- Recognize the importance of investigating incidents and adopting a culture of early reporting.

This course is designed by OSHA Certified Outreach Trainer UL EHS Sustainability.
As UL EHS Sustainability is an IACET accredited training provider since 2007 (ID # 109818), they are authorized to issue the IACET CEU.
Participants will receive IACET CEU 1.0 on the successful completion of this course.
Participants who successfully complete OSHA 10 Hour Construction Industry Outreach online training will receive an OSHA 10 completion card issued by the U.S. Department of Labor.

IMPORTANT NOTE
It is important to remember that this OSHA 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Online Training Program serves as an orientation to occupational safety and health hazards and safe work practices for preventing workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. Employees may also need additional industry specific, site-specific, and hands-on training under OSHA regulations.
It is ultimately the responsibility of the employer to provide adequate training to employees depending on their industry, job type and experience, and to meet OSHA requirements in the process.
This course does not cover any OSHA regulatory standards. It is a voluntary OSHA outreach training program for workers in general industry, and provides employee training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in their workplace.
This training will help participants develop a general understanding of the OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards to prevent workplace-related injuries and accidents.
After enrolling for this course, you can complete the course on your own schedule and at your own pace. However, as per OSHA rules, after you launch this course for the first time, you must finish it, including the survey, within 6 months.
Please note that OSHA only allows for 7 ½ hours of training in a 24-hour period.
Yes, you can download a course completion certificate once you have successfully completed the course and scored 70% or higher on your final exam.
As this is an Outreach Training program, you will receive an OSHA 10 completion card issued by the U.S. Department of Labor on the successful completion of this course. This card will be provided by UL EHS Sustainability.
- Although the OSHA 10 Card does not expire, it is recommended to re-take the OSHA 10 Outreach training every 3-4 years to remain updated as OSHA changes/updates its regulations frequently.
- Some employers may have their own renewal requirements, so this may require you to re-take the course as per their specifications.
- Some states also require workers to re-take the OSHA 10 outreach training and renew their OSHA 10 Cards. So, personnel employed in these states must follow state renewal requirements for the OSHA 10 outreach training and the OSHA 10 Card. For instance, New York state requires personnel to renew their OSHA 10 outreach training every 5 years.
A replacement card can only be issued for a course taken within the last five years and only one replacement card may be issued per student per class.
